Did You Know?

The Victorian rule of thumb for filling a Christmas stocking was "Something to eat, something to read, something to play with, and something they need!"

We pretty much follow this custom when filling our stockings, how about you?

Peanut Brittle (love this one, but must get my auntie's recipe for almond bark)

1 cup peanuts
1 cup sugar
1/8 tsp salt
1/2 white corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda

Stir peanuts, sugar, and salt; add syrup in glass bowl. Microwave on high 7-8 minutes; stir well after 4. At the end add butter and vanilla. Blend well. Return to mic and cook high for 1-2 min more. Remove and add baking soda. Stir until light and foamy. Pour immediately onto greased cookie sheet. Cool 30-60 minutes. Break into pieces and store in airtight container.
